ABOUT
.....
MUSIC DANCE THEATRE DESIGN
Ocean and Life inspired Samuela Konusi Taukave also known as Skillz FJ, is from an island in the Pacific called ROTUMA, Fiji. He had migrated here to the coast from Fiji in 2020 with his beautiful wife to welcome their newborn son Samuela(Jnr) in December of that year. Nowadays, you’ll be able to find him gigging every week as well as running workshops between Noosa and Brisbane as well as online, either hosting Concerts or just the casual jamming LIVE to his fellow patrons.
He was first introduced to the arts industry through hip hop and street dancing as a Bboy while still in secondary level education at Marist Brothers High in Suva, Fiji. After completing Form Seven (Y12), he enrolled at the University of the South Pacific studying Chemistry, Physics and Biology. It was only a few months after, realising his love for arts and music, that he began his full time journey as a Performing Artist.
In the 1st 12 years of pursuing his dream, Skillz had been with Rako Pasefika as one of the key musicians, dancers, visual artist and slam poet stars. Skillz alongside his co artists, scooped 4 Fiji Performing Rights Association Awards for International Recognition, Song of the Year, English Song of the Year and New Artist of that Year.
“My passion for the arts is something I will continue to communicate, pass down and encourage with one and all because life is only lived once, and should be lived without regrets......”
I'm super stoked and excited to share with you my stories and journey as an artist and newly wedded Husband to my beautiful wife Litia and our baby boy Samuela Jnr. So whenever you are ready, please free free to take a look around and if interested book an online class , buy a Tēfui Logo Tee, or get in touch via the contact form for performance enquiries and collaborations.
